Imo Angels emerges winner in the Pre-season Women's Tournament Ogun 2021
Participating in the pre-season's tournament, the club jugged it out against eight clubs to claim the title of champions. Facing off against these teams, we finished the tournament undefeated with three wins and two draws from five games.
This victory signifies the result of the many hardwork put together into making this girls club standout.
During the tournament, we defeated Unification FC 5-0 to kick off our campaign,and then faced Royaltoms International FC, dismissing them 2-0.
Prince Kazeem Eletu Queen's FC sought to impede our winning streak by holding Imo Angels to a 2-2 draw, while another draw against SGH Academy filled with controversy meant that we needed to avoid defeat against Fortress FC to be crowned champions, which we won 2-1.
This victory comes to the delight of supporters all over, including the FA of Imo State. The FA chairman represented by the secretary welcomed the girls back whilst offering his support to the club. A victory for us all.
